Gimme a Break! Professional Pet Care is owned and operated by the Jones family of Frederick, MD. Our love of animals has been a distinguishing characteristic of our family for many years.

Our mission is to provide dependable, loving care for your pets and provide extra security for your home while you're out.

Dennis has several years experience working as a kennel technician and veterinary technician at a county animal shelter and a boarding kennel. He has experience with many breeds of dogs and cats, as well as many types of small animals. Additionally, he has experience as a part time pet sitter. His previous employment background included many years in quality assurance, and he recognizes the value of providing consistent, quality service. Dennis is American Red Cross Pet First Aid & CPR certified.

We are blessed to have a pet family of our own, a dog, a cat, and several ferrets. We also have owned and managed a ferret web site and message board since 2000, called The Ferret Realm.

Gimme a Break! Professional Pet Care is a member of the Pet Sitters Associates, LLC. We carry liability insurance under the same company, as well as "Special property of others coverage" to protect against things such as mysterious disappearances, destruction, breakage (the aspects of bonding). We chose this over being bonded because bonding means that IF someone steals from your home AND is convicted of the crime then the bonding company will reimburse you. Our insurance is actual insurance, and includes a much broader scope of personal property coverage.

We have also been long-term pet sitting clients ourselves. We understand your needs and expectations for quality pet care. Thank you for considering Gimme a Break! Professional Pet Care for your pet care needs.  We hope to hear from you!

"In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog."
~ Edward Hoagland
